Wei Wei & Drumpf

This is a personal project that I did as a sort of concept for an exhibition. The idea was to build a series of posters on a wall with Trump's quotes about immigration/immigrants and have pamphlets for people to take from the exhibition that were filled with Ai Wei Wei's personal statements about the pain of being an immigrant in America/being oppressed by a government. The idea came from the rhetoric of trump vs. the concept for Wei Wei's latest exhibition in NYC. Trump advocates for "building a wall" whereas Wei Wei advocates to make good fences and great neighbors. The hope of this exhibition would be that people who support this hate-filled platform might have a learning experience/encounter with a new perspective, or at least might accidentally spread something that makes someone else have that experience.
