Lobstertype Exploration

    This guy launched over at pinchit about a year and a half ago. Recently the site's decided to shift focus a bit, and they've asked me to revisit the the logotype, and design an updated solution to match the direction they're headed in.

    Still playing around with a variety of options > but this one made me chuckle a bit.

    >> UPDATE

    ***ALSO > QUICK SHOUT TO ALL THE UI GUYS:

    In addition to the ID update, Pinchit's looking for someone to take the lead on a general complimentary UI refresh.

    If you're interested, feel free to drop me an email with a few links, etc. and I'll go ahead and forward it along for you.

    Awesome, but for some reason (which I don't know), I read PinGhit at first sight.

    Looks good, althought the 'C' reads a bit like a 'G'.

    It's great to see this guy again! Haha, this concept is just excellent, very nice idea. While I read it fine, I do see where the possible confusion with a 'G' is coming from. Maybe having the 'H' stroke be 'pinched' higher up inside the 'C' would help, so that it's further away from where a 'G' crossbar would hypothetically be. That said, it might throw the balance off a bit.. Either way, looking forward to seeing where you go with this one!

    Nice idea indeed.
    Same as Ahmed here. I read Pinghit. Becaúse of the H into the C.

    Thanks a lot guys!

    Can definitely see where everyone's coming from RE the 'C/G' confusion, and I think I may have sorted it out with a small UPDATE..?

    Definately a C now. I don't want to be a brag, but I (now) read it in 2. It's supposed to be Pinchit, right? I read it as Pinc - Hit. Shouldn't it be Pinch it? Just some space between the 'H' and 'IT' would help!

    If it turns out the H thing doesn't work out, the lobster can always pinch the P. (?) Goodluck! :)

    I think the version 2 is better. The C/G confusion is less obvious :)

    @Sophie - The name is always read as a single block, but there's a bit of inherent flexibility there... Just so long as it doesn't read 'hit'.

    @Ahmed - Agreed, thanks.

    @Colin - Cheers bud!

    In the end, I think we're probably going to opt for something a bit more distilled...but again, these were obviously fun to do ;)

    That lobster is awesome! Like a few people mentioned already, I too thought the C was a G.

    Wrapped this guy up a couple weeks ago, and finally getting around to posting it today.

    I orignally opted for some slightly more playful directions, but the ultimate push was for a more high end / yet acessible aesthetic, leaving the lobster to do the playing. Rounded terminals reflect the styling of the mark, and I'm pretty fond of the 'C', even if it isn't getting all grabby with the 'H'...
