    On the buttons to the right, you have to decide wether you want to make them stand out or in.. the white shadow on top implies that it stands out. but the innershadow on the bottom implies that is is suncen into the ui..

    I know what you mean but does it look wonky in the black bar as well? I want the button to have depth while also being slightly pressed into the interface. Perhaps I just need to increase the width of the "well" around the button to give more of an overall sense of depth?

    Not convinced by @Anders Drage feedback. I think you can have both and it is still visually accurate. A BIV of a 3-D button that is inset would have a lot of those visual qualities.
