All shading and crosshatching is at a 30 degree angle to align with the edges of the hexagon. I increased / decreased the widths of the lines on each face to give the impression of different levels of shading. I may try implementing the same effect on the I balcony at the top.
I also challenged myself to make the entire logo monochrome (usually I'm a full color bitmap logo kind of guy)... However monochrome obviously reduces cost of doing promotional items such as t-shirts / mugs / stationary, etc.
