Here are a few rough renderings of what I'll be doing for my first glyph set.

I realize they still need a lot of work. This was a ~1 hour project.

Any advice and suggestions for creating (mini) glyphs would be appreciated.

Once complete these will be available for free for developers to use privately and commercially.

Love the direction. I wonder how those thin lines will render when the icons are smaller… if you intend for them to be smaller.

@Anthony This is my first time making glyphs. :-\ Definitely something I should think about. Haven't decided what dimensions these icons will be available in. Most likely in 32 × 32, 24 × 24, and 16 × 16. We'll see. Hm.

Great start. Love the style. Some tips for going even more mini:
    • Try showing the pixel grid and zooming wayy in.
    • Use the pencil tool to draw instead of vector shapes.
    • Make sure image resampling is set to nearest neighbor when scaling.
    • Turn off type anti-aliasing.

I think the only thing that stands out to me is the seal on the letter looks off. Maybe try filling the negative space. (Kind of comes off as a weird camera or something at first glance)

@Jake I actually tried that and it looked strange. I can try messing with things and try to get something that looks less strange.

Looking good. great start. +1 What Jake said. But if you want to keep them in vectors, you'll have to reshape the shapes at various sizes. Vectors scale best x2. So going from 16 to 32 or vice versa will retain it's shape better than 16 to 24. Vectors are math coordinates after all. For glyphs, I always work at the smallest size first, then scale up. More detailed icons I do largest, then scale down. But I find reshaping vectors a lot less stressful than repainting pixels. Just my 2 pennies. Hope that helps! good luck!
