This is for the iPhone app for our social network, Diabetic Connect. People will soon be able to update their status & optionally track their blood sugar levels and such.
Not sure what to do with the slider yet. I've tried a few versions and am not in love with any of them as much as I want to be yet.
Special thanks to @JuanArreguin and @yocline for photo bombing my shot! ;)
Looks great, maybe give the blood drops some more depth?
And I personally don't really like the blue glow around the pushed buttons :) Also those icons next to the pushed button with the drop, i see you used a 1px border? It kinda makes them rough around the edge.
Also some effects used to create that pushed and bevel effect could be applied some more smoother. Just a suggestion :)
Looking really good Anthony.
Agree with Coen's thoughts on the pushed button states & drops. Also, the three buttons & the "perfect" dropdown look related somehow, but I'm not sure if that's intended?
Thanks for the feedback guys! I'd agree with rough edges. I'll have to polish those a bit more. And yeah, the "perfect" drop down is sort of a supplement to the tracking, so it is somewhat separate and should probably be visually represented as such.
How set are you on the color progression (blue > cyan > green > yellow > red) for the blood drops?
I can understand the idea behind each (green = good, red = hot/high, blue = cold/low), but I'm not sure they track well across a continuum/gradient. Could you have the colors saturate as the slider …?
Never mind, pictures work better. I mocked up what I was thinking in instead.
Looking great! I agree with adding some depth to the blood drops, or maybe just a little more detail like super light gray hash markings between them to make it feel more like a scale.

Haha. I was mentioned in that tweet. Not that it matters at all to anyone but me.
Also, this is looking good, Anthony.
