Just a little logo treatment I was playing with for Hanerino. We finalized the shape of the H, but still haven't decided on what should go around it (if anything).
Patrick, just some very mild suggestions. I think your logo is closing in on done, but if you've been staring at it for any length of time, chances are you get blind spots like I do when i vector it up.
Try comparing some of the curves again and choose which style to go with. Here are some examples.
I really love the graph paper style shape of your logo and prefer it over some that are over produced. I love custom carved shapes, especially in illustrator.
Cheers!
I agree with Luke about the gentle tweaking of the curves. What I really love about the custom shape of the mark is that it's very typographic in nature. Those small tweaks would really add strength.
Maybe it's just the very outer circle, but the way the circle crops the mark is creating too much tension. I'm not saying it shouldn't be within a circle, but don't rule out other shapes that are truer to the overall shape.
Luke: I'm picking up what you're putting down. Seriously though, I totally agree. The ball portion definitely wasn't done, and it's shape has bothered me for a while now, but we've been focusing on a containing shape lately and hadn't gotten to that. Thanks for your rebound though, that'll help I'm sure.
Darren: The outer circle was just something to try out, but I do agree that it crops the actual mark in a way that may not be best, and even feels a bit too cramped.
Something that just "happened" in my sketch book and I thought I'd draw it a few times until I got this. The lines and loops are a little choppy, but the point is made. I really like this even though it needs refinement.

nicely!
pull the bottom of the ball terminal back a bit, for a swooping ƒ touch, would be my choice…
Like the circle a lot. Can i order a medallion?

Luke: The bottom of the ball terminal? I'm not following what you're suggesting.

Definitely agree with Luke, needs those little details & polish to the curves and edges.
I agree that the circle isn't working quite right either, I think it breaks the solid structure of the letter form.
