This is one of the concepts I developed in building the new logo for Phillips Acquisitions.
Attached are some of the pencil sketches leading up to the computer development. They're arranged from early/rough explorations (on top) to clearer direction/refinement (bottom).
Also, please check out this video I did of my building the logo on the computer. Thanks! http://vimeo.com/34528591
This logo is so rad...**drools** My only observation is that why is the rear leg on the far side disconnected from the body when the front leg on the same side is not?
Thanks Leighton! Funny reaction to my initial sketches. Client ripped them being too soft. Said more power/aggression, as if the Lion is getting ready to pounce.. I like the direction he took it though. Before I was thinking of something very stylized and iconic.

Lions are big in financial biz- they symbolize what happens if you don't pay your loan.

Thanks Justin!!.. That's just a style treatment. For final, the client had me connect the back leg & tail. I just didn't apply it to this shot.

Love that thing. Great job.
Nice sketches, too by the way. It's cool to see your concept directions for this project.

Simply incredible, Carlos. I'd hand over everything I had if that lion came knocking. ;-)
