Nice one, Spitz! I'd love to learn the technical side to creating working typefaces one day. Maybe I'll learn it one Saturday evening, when everyone else is out "having fun."
Imagine how much type work you'd get done if you never left the house at all! This looks great (you could drink out of that 'Y'). Really original tail on the 'Q', I love it. Maybe 'V' could be a little narrower at the bottom to further differentiate it from the 'U'.
@Nick / Jonathan - Thanks a lot guys! I'm particularly fond of that 'Q' ;)
@Claire - Ha! (Imagining & feeling strongly compelled to pour myself a drink...repeatedly!) Good thought on the 'V' > still not entirely happy with that guy...but I've got a couple more options. I'm actually considering contextual alternatives for most of the character, but that seems like it could get out of hand rather quickly at the Fontlab stage... ;) Again, thanks for the bump on the 'Q' I'm pretty pleased with that tail. Debated whether or not to include the little 'ear' at the top (same thing with the 'O/C/G') but they seemed like good points of cohesion..?
I like them, it feels like it helps bring those letters together with the rest of the alphabet (which is especially impressive for a letter like 'O' which can sometimes feel a bit plain). Would of course love to see plenty of contextual alternates.. but yea, you'd probably start regretting it really quickly later on!
@Claire - Thanks for the positive vote. Know what you mean RE the 'O'. Sometimes it's a nice pause from the madness, but sometimes it feels left out... The 'C' was actually the main instigator in this case > fixed that, but then I had to balance out everyone else. Type can be so demanding..! ;) Still thinking about the alternates (can't quite imagine how I'd actually go about rigging this particular style to work properly...) but we'll see how it goes.
Haha yea if only it were easy eh? ;) I see your point about the alts, I suppose you'll probably see as the letters develop if it'll make sense to include them or not. Looking forward to the progress!
i really like the ears at the top. but in my opinion H, M, N are a bit wobbly/mooving. have you tried how i looks if you bend the right foot to the right? on the other side, it's an interesting effect!

If you try to type "Hula" would be an awesome "hula-slide" effect
