So this is meant to stir conversation. I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately and thought, "oh well why don't I ask!" So to the question, have any of the staff or other designers thought of having some sort of conference or regional connect groups where Dribbbler's get together and discuss design, the web, trends, et cetera?
I don't assume I'm the only one to think of this. I think it would be awesome to get together with fellow Dribbbler's whether it be local or at some kind of event.
I think doing regional events would probably be the best way to start this up. Although I'd love to do a conference, I'm wondering how feasible that is this early in the game (or maybe that's we start this whole thing off with).
@Dan - I'm glad to know this has been an idea rolling around in the brains of the Dribbble team. Any of your input/ideas would be wonderful.
Something that would be good as well is finding central locations where the population of dribbbler's is the greatest and see what we can form from there.
@Dan I've often been curious as to where Dribbblers are located. Is there as easy way to see this data? (other than going to every player's profile...)
If one could capture the nature of Dribbble in a conference, I would go. However, I think Dribbble needs to grow a bit first. I feel like we're still in the "getting to know you" phase. I can't wait until the gloves come off.
If we were to get a good group of thinkers (i.e. the dribbble community) together and come up with a good solution to regional meetups then I'm sure being in Europe won't be the problem, It would be how many dribbbler's live next to you :)

I haven't thought about it, but that is a great idea. I'm especially attracted to regional connect groups you mentioned.
Who says we can't do it?
We just need to take the next step and reach out to each other...

Great idea - we should do it in Orlando. I'd be happy to help organize.

It's a fantastic idea. "Dribbble Live" (be it a conf/event/meetup) has long been an idea tossed around here at HQ.
Will be watching this thread closely :)

I totally agree with Sean. Meeting other dribbblers who are passionate about design would be amazing. :)

Wait, is this real basketball? I'm picking my own team:
Rogie King (Small Forward)
Kyle Steed (Center)
Jesse Gardner (Shooting Guard)
Trent Walton (Point Guard)
Me (Power Forward)
Oh wait, we're just talking about designing stuff. Well, in that case, nevermind.

Be interested also, just as this is a small site member wise (as its invite only) people might be a bit sparse in some areas.
Map would be a good way on a page similar to http://director-ee.com

@Ryan Rushing - See this post. I was wondering the same thing so I put this in the support section.
@Ryan Downie - I definitely like the layout.

I'd love to meet Jeff Broderick. He could teach me his way to noise things.
Nah I'm kidding, I live in Europe so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to participate.

I would love to also be apart of some sort of dribbble connect. Meeting fellow designers is always a good thing.

Really good idea. Now, who's going to start? That's always the hard part.
