Itchyworms Lettering

This was a logotype concept that I submitted for the logo design contest of the band Itchyworms.

I wasn't really planning on joining and just shared the contest announcement to my Facebook friends. But I got a lot of encouragement to submit an entry so I decided to just give it a shot.

Now there weren't any specific details about the band's preference for the logo. I do love the current logo that they were using so I just approached this with the mindset of trying to build on what they currently have. So I created a symbol and a logotype concept, which is shown here. The band is fun, quirky and based on their name, wormy! That's what I'm trying to communicate with my design.
