Quick illustration for a post about engaging the Bible. The coffee is crucial.

It should be noted that I also considered illustrating a Bible with a big red "Engage Button" about to be pushed. Probably better that I didn't go that direction.

Very nice style. That yellow against tan irks me a bit (especially the pencil), but I think that's just personal :-) Maybe a bit darker or lighter wood?

I'd maybe maybe give the iPad screen a different color from the wood desk, so it doesn't look like a window/frame at first glance.

i really like it. agree with the screen color on the ipad and would also maybe consider just a flat color shift instead of the gradient on the pencil.
