the general aperture and counter of the ampersand is very open while "plate" and "paper" kind of close those counters. I might try to let the "a"s and "e"s breathe a little and give them more counter space. Might make the type corporate with the ampersand more—because I love that ampersand. Does that make sense?
This is really nice. My feeling is that the ampersand seems a little out of place with the hand written type. It seems much more refined than "plate" and "paper." I agree with Matt, I love the ampersand too. maybe just make it not as smooth like the type.
