Finally I have spent sometime playing around with Node.js - this is part of a working build I have running locally. It should be hopefully integrated as part of a bigger project ready for a mid-2012 launch! :)

Haziq, it is indeed, wanted to keep the player fairly desaturated as the whole page is rather dark and I didn't want any of the elements to 'jump out' too much. :)

Chris right now it's for searching songs metadata from different sources, it uses a bit of magic when crawling for covers as many sites have low resolution images or none at all. In the future I am going to use Node for analysing that data as well as managing Mongodb and keeping an admin area :)
