Based on the feedback I received from The Oracle ;-), I have made some refinements, and it is looking much more balanced now, and getting quite happy with it.
I have kept the Windmill blades/wings the same as the previous version though because there is good reasoning why they are positioned like this.
The Church at Skerries believes that the blades/wings form a Cross shape at certain stages of it's rotation. If you look into the windmill logomark here, imagine the wings on the left, and right sides being the arms... you will see what I am referring to. Probably something I should have mentioned in my previous overview on the first one, but anyway, there you go.
This is not a logo that everybody will get without being from that part of Ireland or knowing some history of the area. But the people this is targeting will quickly identify with it.
Hopefully the rest of you will still see a nice logo, regardless. :-)
Matthew, I did show you the actual photos of the real Skerries Windmill did I not? And you see that this is what it looks like? ;-) The Church in question wouldn't be too happy with such a comparison to an erect cock. When you are more experienced you may be able to place yourself outside of your own viewpoint to better understand how others may see things. ;-)
I did see the photo, yes. Why don't you try adding more texture to the building like on the picture. Maybe the 3 windows? Maybe try that to make it less 'blocky'?
Like I stated in the early comments in the previous shot, this has already moved through those stages you are trying to suggest. So basically, you are assuming I haven't previously thought of these things. I know it is probably an absolute shocker, but I do have some experience with design. ;-)
In my original sketches I was working through some options with only the windmill blades, and after some of the previous feedback, I'm considering this route again!
Modifying the original Windmill shape too much can make it look like something else entirely, which could counteract the whole point of representing their local landmark!
But then again, this one may provoke just as many questions! But does it matter? I'm not so sure...

Great improvements, so far so good.
I'm sorry though, but I still think it resembles a cock.

I can see what you don't fully get the style I'm going for, which is fair enough. ;-)

I do get the style you are 'going for' - just try adding a little more. What harm is it gonna do?
