Trying something completely different to the last concept, this time inspired by a much older GPS device.
I have both a black version and this burnt orange version. I think I'm leaning towards this one at the moment, has a bit more of a retro GPS feel to it, somehow!
The only issue I have so far is how I'm going to get a map to look right on this - going to look somewhat odd having a full blown colour map when the stats screen is black and white. My thoughts so far is to have a "paper" map slide over the GPS when you hit the maps button.
Back in December I designed an iPhone interface for a simple GPS tracking application being developed by MUD Inc. It is based on a physical GPS, and I was mostly inspired by the Garmin GPS 60's, a heavy duty GPS used during hikes.
