Donate $5 to Charity:Water to receive a raffle ticket. Donate $20 and you get 4…yup, you've figured out the rest. When we've reached $5,000 of donations, we'll raffle off the invites. There's a good chance you could win.
David, that surely is a mindset of some of the Dribbble community, however, most people that would be left to "chance" are people that have been very persistent in trying to get in. They have a love for design and want to be a part of the community. We felt it a good idea to rally up a bunch of invites and have some fun with it.
As you can see, its not all about the raffle tickets. Its really about creating a movement in the hearts of Dribbble insiders and out to bring clean water to people in need.
Honored to be participating in this great innitiative with Rogie, Chris, Yaron, Brad, et.al. Dribbble is a rad community, but what if we build a conscious community on top of what it is now?
Also, Dribbble pushes its members to be better designers. We know it, and for that reason we need to allow others to push their limits.
Awesome statement Gerardo. Maybe our shared love for the community and design can spurn us on to be passionate and make a difference for truly hurting people. That is my prayer and hope.
The brilliant part of Dribbble is how the community has been given the opportunity to form and mold the community. It started as a great place, and only gotten better.
The fact that the community is leveraging its popularity to do something for good - that literally will change (and maybe save) people's lives really makes me feel good to be a member. I'm honored and humbled to be a "player" (though I've mostly been on the bench lately!)
The best part is by using the chance to get an invite to raise money, the new members will also be people I'd be happy to be associated with - people who give to charity and work to make our world a better place.
Three cheers for Dribbble! Thanks to Messrs. Cederholm and Thornett for (aka Coach Dan and Coach Rich) creating such a wonderful place.
Some awesome dribbblers have teamed up to raise money for a good cause and they need your help. Dribbble invites will be given away to a lucky group of participants and more importantly, clean water will be provided to people who desperately need it. Head over to the original shot for more info.
This is a great idea and I am happy to take part in it. It helps people that don't have invites... it helps the charity I love... it helps us as a community mature and grow... and most importantly, it helps people that need help the most. Win win for everyone.
This is awesome guys! I'm so excited to be a part of this as well! I'll be sure to pass it around and contribute to the cause myself. Rogie, thanks especially to you for reaching out and helping me get involved. All you guys are great and I'm excited to be part of such a great community here on Dribbble! :D later
I think this is a great idea too! I'm sure some people will throw their hands in the air and cry "this isn't how the dribbble invites work"... but it's for charity.
Sometimes, it's not what you know, it's who you know, and if you don't know anyone with a dribbble invite, you're up a creek if you want in on this fantastic community.
Doing it this way not only gives other designers a chance to showcase their work & get feedback on their designs (which is what this community is all about; right?) but it's also donating to a charity.
I think it's a great idea & thanks to Rogie, I am donating my last remaining invite.
Oh, and don't worry, if you've read this far, here's the scoop. If your rebound is the most popular by likes, you get $50. Plain n simple. Wait, but your design was awesome and you got second place!?!??! What a flippin' crime. Okay, I'll give you a Stache Trooper shirt.

Welcome to the first ever Dribbble community charity campaign. Yaron Schoen, Chris Wallace, Brad Miller (aka Christopher Walken), Rogie King and a whole slew of generous Dribbble community members have combined forces to raffle off over 25 Dribbble invites.
We've invited fake Christopher Walken to introduce this campaign. Without further ado, take it away Christopher:

Here's how it works
Donate $5 to Charity:Water to receive a raffle ticket. Donate $20 and you get 4…yup, you've figured out the rest. When we've reached $5,000 of donations, we'll raffle off the invites. There's a good chance you could win.
The Rules
1. Donate to charity:water by visiting http://mycharitywater.org/dribbble.
2. In the "comment" field, please add your twitter handle (or web URL) so we can find you and send you the dribbble invitation if you win.
If you DO NOT want to enter your name into the raffle but DO want to donate, please leave the comment field empty or donate anonymously. Thanks!
