So, a few days ago I finally got around to purchasing a Tascam iM2 stereo condenser microphone for my iPhone. Now, this thing comes with an accompanying iOS app... Unfortunately, it's about as pretty as a smashed crab; so I thought I'd spend a few hours and have a playing around revamping it all.
It's by no means complete yet, but I'm digging the direction it's headed in. I thought that once I'm done, I may try sending across the resources to Tascam in hopes they'll implement it, but we'll see...

Very nice, I would tone the noise down on the body plastic just a little. You also seem to be missing the two microphone bars, volume controls?

I love it, but I'd way rather see a grid of buttons, quadrilateral as apposed to circular. I feel that would suit the kind of device this is mimicking a little more.

I don't know how many hours you spend on this one but if you decide to give the sources, it's a great christmas gift for Tascam. A strong redesign by a top-level designer for free, they should feel lucky !

I've tried doing this a few times - i.e. buying something that looks like it's been designed by a small child with a box of crayons and then tactfully trying to tell them that their interface could do with some polishing and offering my help... It's never ended well :(
