Back to templates. Here is one that is geared towards females, or dudes that like pink and purple.

If I was one of those dudes I would totally dig this design.
All those textures, patterns, fonts, colors,... This is just awesome!
That's quite possibly the best photo frame I've ever seen.
Nice work once again, I don't think I have ever disliked anything you've done!
@Adam: Next month or so. Hopefully.
I like the fine paper texture.
You have an amazing eye for detail. Love the typography choices.
That slight drop shadow on "Cosmopolitan" is stellar. Great textures too. I almost feel like the rounded box looks unfinished based on the detail put into all the other elements.
I like it - I would do a template with the chevron pattern. That is new and hot and ladies like it.
@Anthony: Point taken. I will revisit that.
@Heather: Thanks for the suggestion! Would you mind sending me a link to an image that is something like what you were thinking? I am not quite sure what it should look like.
@Dave maybe she means something like this > http://weddingbellesstationer.com/2011/10/07/chevron-patterns-make-for-stylish-stationery-cards/
Ah Very cool, Adam. Thanks!
I like where this is going. Nice texture and colors. Would love to see more.
I am a dude who likes purple!
Bam ! great one !
It's ok. Nothing spectacular. Definitely not 'dribbble first page' material, how did that happen?
It's cases like this which highlight the popularity contest nature of *SOME* dribbblers and dribbblees.
@Jay Vincent each to their own
I like many others love Dave's style. Just because it does not conform with the usual over-designed photoshop effect-fest ui work doesn't mean it can't be popular.
you can spot a dave ruiz shot a mile off - which is more than can be said for the majority of post-closed invite dribbble.
This is awesome! What is the font you used on 'Cosmopolitan'?
@Jay: Thank goodness you aren't the client then. It would have been back to the drawing board :)
I don't think I fall into the "popularity contest" category. I started Dribbble just like everyone else. Some members liked my work and chose to follow me. You have every opportunity to achieve the same results.
@Kyee: Thanks, Man. I appreciate the kind words, especially from someone who's work I really dig.
@Christine: Thanks! The font is Sign Painter House Script.

Those are 2 links I could find quickly. It started with the clothing designer Missoni coming to Target and has spread quickly.
