Thought I would put a little effort into the iPhone icon for my film blog that I launched last week http://itsfilmtastic.co.uk

Just save the homepage to your home screen on your iPhone for it to show up.

The level of detail for the photo looks good at this size, but won't it look different smaller (maybe a bloody horror movie icon ;) )? I like it though, nice one...

Haha, yeah I started with just the letter on a plain background, but just didn't work for me, so played about a bit until I got to this. It looks pretty good on my iPhone 4.

Looks great, what would it look like with a silver bezel? It might add a little contrast to match the lettering. Really like the red bezel, great job sir!

Thanks Mark, I like the idea, but I'm not sure the silver would really fit in well with the overall feel of the site.

The 'F' reminds me too much of Facebook. I probably wouldn't incorporate the photo as the icon that most people are going to see is on the actual iPhone. So, you won't really see this detail.

I'd got for a solid red icon without the 3-Dimensional look and have a subtle gradient. (I like this red http://c.ethk.in/Chio that you can see on top of the seats in the background).

I don't know, perhaps going for a film icon or video camera for something more topical and make it stand out more.

    Hope this helps bro.

Got to agree on the F part, problem is its the font from the logo and has been for 4-5 years lol

Oops, I thought this was a facebook icon before... ahh... touch situation, especially if you had the logo for a while (though FB existed before then too).

Looking at it now, your both right, I think I will convert this to use as a Facebook icon and create Twitter and RSS one's too.

Back to the drawing board for the iPhone one.

Decided after a few comments from the guys on here that my icon was too similar to a Facebook icon, so decided to use it for exactly that and also work a Twitter and RSS one.

After realising that the font I used on the last icon was very similar to the Facebook font, I decided to go for a different take on the icon. Film related but something a little different from the rest of the website.

    Thoughts?

This is my first reall attempt as a proper iPhone icon as most clients just want their logo put in it.
