   I would have trouble tapping those little icons at the bottom, that said I don't know what they're used for (I don't own an iPhone) or whether they're default UI or custom.

   They're not for tapping Ralph - they're just an indication of what screen your on. You just swipe the screen left or right to move from panel to panel.
