I think it looks fantastic.
Few tiny notes...
Since the logo is so colorful, perhaps keep the date text monochromatic? or at least one color for past, one for future, keeping the selected date multi-colored?
And... "event type" being the same size/weight/case as the nav is a bit distracting. Seems to throw the hierarchy a bit. Also not sure on the alignment of the "event" and its container.
