From September 1995, this is probably the oldest completely digital graphic of any sort I still have kicking around in some form. I built a really lame RPG and clearly put more effort into the art, since it was both boring and buggy.
Bonus type cred: while the chunky font on the bottom was DOS system text, the thinner type above was a hand-drawn pixel font.
Thanks Brian. I'm trying to think of older examples to give you something to feel better about, but I'm pretty sure this game came within just a few months of deciding to start using a computer for something other than playing video games. To be fair, I was already pretty good with a paper and pencil by that point.
(Starting to think it might be fun to put together a gallery of older work that I don't completely hate by now; I'm digging up some gems here...)

I'd say that man looks more than bored, he looks like his brain is scrambled. Not sure I'd buy a shield from him.
I'm actually curious, Dave, after seeing this... we're you a child of Sierra as I was?

I was indeed. Sierra, LucasArts, and Nintendo were my big three.

Honestly Dave, I'm blown away. If this is the oldest / worst digital art that you have on your computer I'm giving up now. Kidding. Sort of.
Looks like you were awesome since day 1.

Agreed with Jesse. Looks like a lobotomy victim. On another note, I'd wear armor furthest to the right any day. It looks wickedly awesome.

@Jesse first thing I thought as well. Sierra rules! King quest, heros quest, police quest, space quest, Larry... I had them all.

It really makes me miss those good ol' DOS games.
