@Andrew I think you need to see it in a much larger context (like the entire page) to say that with confidence. If the rest of the page is light it could balance out just fine.

ah i personally reall like the dark blue..with the other accent colours in use, i think anything lighter would be wishy-washy and a bit soft.

The yellow highlight marker feels a bit erratic to me. It seems like it should be a more uniform swoosh.
