   I like what you're doing here. I think with regard to the pencil's shadows, it almost looks like the right shadow could be blended a little differently, it looks like the pencil has a wrapping paper around it that ends: http://cl.ly/2h2j1q220j2i3c430S0E Maybe making the shadow take up the whole side, or having a lighter gradient could help. Keep it up!

   Nice job, but I have to agree, the shadow needs some more work. Since just the tip touches the paper you should add a gradient to the shadow.
   Btw have you thought about this?

   Looks nice... the shading on the tip of the pencil doesn't match the rest of the lighting though; the highlight should be on the top, not the bottom :D
