huh, the ones similar to this seem like a bad idea, haha. However, the ones with the entire edge of the paper shown seem more practical. This icon is great, I guess my beef is with the original real-world product.
@Artisdanz As with most things (no pun intended) there are similarities. Both apps have a similar function, but are intended for a different user. Stay tuned for more...
I like it. But, I really dont think it needs the wood container. That part of it is similar enough to Things to cause brand recognition problems (in my humble opinion). It would be stronger and more unique/recognizable without it.
A little reworking of the icon at different sizes to make sure the pages fall on the correct pixels as to not become blurry. Plus a fun little favicon in there for the website.
Tip: Don't just scale your app icons down using one of those iOS icon smart object templates; treat all of them with the care they deserve!

For me, the curl effect may be a little stronger (shadow work).
Very nice icon!

Why would a bound set of paper be sitting inside an inbox tray? Wouldn't that make it hard to remove pages? :P

@Wesley, I'm with @Jake...the objects in that image search seem like the pages are bound on the top, and tear off like a post-it note.

Isn't this just a copy of Things?

@Jake and @Andrew Yeah I see your point. I will look into moving the leather binding to the top of the container instead. Thanks!
