Clean Water Canada

The Nibi Project, formed in 2012, brings together communities across Canada that want to change the process of water and wastewater infrastructure design and management in Indigenous communities. Clean Water Canada is an awareness campaign for The Nibi Project. The goal of the Nibi Project is to develop processes for providing locally appropriate, sustainable water and wastewater technology through community-centered design. The focus of the project is community input and control, with the end goal of incorporating local voices into infrastructure design. This project is led by the communities of Rigolet, Labrador, James Smith Cree Nation, Curve Lake First Nation, and Dokis First Nation. We can get a fresh start on water. Clean Water Canada and youtube.com/letslookafterwater is a place to come together to share information, resources, photos and videos about community-driven water initiatives in Indigenous communities.
