    My latest project: An 18 pound white/yellow English-style Labrador Retriever we've named Kenai after the Kenai River/Peninsula in Alaska where we vacationed in spring.

    Thanks Mark!

    My wife and I lost our 14 year old black Lab in March, and my parents lost their 11 year old in April. Those dogs were amazing and they were like sisters. Stupid cancer.

    It took a vacation and lots of thought, but we decided we were ready to look, and this little girl picked us out. The next day, my parents went back and got her sister. So now we have *literal* sisters.

    I can so relate. A few years back I had to put down my pup of 16 years! Collie Shepard mix. She was gorgeous and awesome. But it's the cycle of life, and each new beginning is magical. Enjoy!
