This is my first shot at designing interface for android. The latest greatest android phone is Google's/Samsung's "Galaxy Nexus". This phone doesn't have physical back, home and menu buttons - these buttons are now software and on-screen all the time in Android 4.0.
So... When building an interface, you have to deal with the fact that you'll always have a black bar at the bottom of your design. Here's what I did to manage that. I faded the nav from black on the bottom and the sides. (The sides is so the nav still looks sensible while centred in landscape mode or on a tablet) The dark red line separates our app from the system buttons.
I'd love to know your thoughts on the way I did this. This version of Pocket Casts will be the prettiest we've done on android yet. :)

Too sexy for Android. It’ll be rejected by Google... oh, wait.
