One thing that bothers me about this, and a lot of people doing brushed metal make this mistake, but the light can't really exist like this across the front surface. When light hits the edge of the one of the grooves, it then reflects to the inside of the groove on the opposite side. Meaning, in almost all cases, that it should be an even number and that number should be 2× the light sources.
