As Rogie said, I will be designing my own UI — this is just a lunch break mock up. This thing kept me up last night.

    Silly really.

I can already make this happen with the native twitter app, except the arrow pointing up. Am I missing something here? :)

I get it - you don't want to pull up the timeline list at all.

@Anthony -- Thanks for pointing out "Global new tweet" -- I just set mine as control+option+command+"t"

Clearly I need to clarify. I'm starting to feel bad. This isn't at all my UI (except the small arrow which took three seconds to make). This is straight from the Twitter Mac app, as seen here: http://cl.ly/43392Q3g2U0Q1E2v1n1W

It's more the idea I'm trying to illustrate. Being able to post a new tweet with less clicks — without seeing the timeline.

Garand already helped me realise you can do this with a keyboard shortcut, but I'm a fan of pointing and clicking. I guess the same thing could be said about Wren, which has a lot of fans.

I'll be quickly designing my own UI in between client stuff soon!

I like this Jack. Great idea. Would love if they integrated this into the current app.

Charles, go to your twitter app settings, assign a hotkey for Global new tweet, done. http://cl.ly/COGJ

I just use a Twitter plugin for Alfred app when I want to write a quick tweet.

I think it's fair to do a post on Dribbble to just illustrate an idea - even if you didn't do every pixel.

    And I like the idea!
