Display Board of Four Academic Journals

This project is about designing four display boards to be placed in an academic conference (iConference 2017). The display boards are about four scholarly journals. My customer is an editor from the journal publisher.

I did some interviews before designing. I asked my customer what signals the boards were supposed to communicate, and what context they would be settled.

My customer answered my questions happily because she found me being professional in understanding her needs. Also, she wished the boards to surpass over competitors (other journals in her field). She wanted conference attendees to get noticed of the four journals.

I understood my customer's needs and chose a 32-Grid-System to help me arrange elements. The Grid System was selected to fit in the academic environment.

I made the journal titles quite bold and surrounded in bright color backgrounds, to catch people's eyeballs.

My customer is delighted with my design, and took a lot of photos in front of the display boards with her colleagues and friends!
