One of the projects I've been working on lately. I will post more this weekend possibly. Check out the little animated gif attachment to see what I have in mind. Inspiration for that little idea came from our car where you turn it off, it says good-bye on the dashboard, and every time I see that, it makes me happy. Small things make me happy, yes.

    Sheriff settings!

I think that there might be a weird feeling about clicking on a drop down menu and it not disappearing straight away.
If that does end up happening, you could always make the drop menu go away, and the name fade out to "Goodbye" then fade in to "Log in"

It is a very neat idea though!

I've never understood the recent use of a power icon for logging in and signing out.

time to trade in that gear/sprocket icon for another one brosef, looks like a jewish star at a glance needs more teeth or something. sign out label looks a bit high in its hit area, but you might be leaving some padding on the bottom. digging the blues.

Why did you use a snow flake for settings? ;)

Personally I think both icons work great. The settings icon literally looks nothing like any of the aforementioned.
