Concept illustration for a big company. Its based both on photo references and my own sketches. See the key stages of the process in the attached file.
In the detalizaiton stage the burger looked more like hamburger meat, but the final seems to resemble chicken more so. How about adding some dripping ketchup/mustard! Those are key condiments in hamburgers. I see the onions on the bottom.
I agree with all the comments. It's great, so far. In addition to those comments mentioned, the bottom bun probably shouldn't have sesame seeds on it, as they usually don't.
Is the meat steak? or is it ground beef? If it's supposed to look like steak then you've accomplished that.
If it's supposed to look like ground beef, then the texture being used is texture from a cross section of a steak. Ground beef should have an uneven surface, more like it's made up of pebbles and needs circular lighting. The current meat looks like it was cut with a knife.
The lighting on the bottom bun is a bit flat and the lettuce could use some water drops too.
It looks cool, the top bun is what the rest of the piece should match in terms of lighting and quality, top bun is dope.

Looks great overall, but the burger part looks more like chicken or a steak or something instead of a burger.

I agree with the comments on the meat looking more like a chicken. It was my first impression without reading the comments.

Amazing artwork.
Feedback:
The bread looks too straight. Add some crumbs and distorted edges.

do you use a Wacom Cintiq for sketching? i just notice your sketches are so precise, it's like they are on paper.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments!
@Konstantin Datz - Valid point about the bubbles, will work on that.
@Ryan & Martin Fabricius - thx for the ketchup tip.
@Rob & Julio & Ryan - I should go study some gastronomy :) I'll work on that, thanks.

I think that the tomatoes whoule have water bubbles and I think that bread and meat needs a little bit more love.
And you should compare this to a real photo of a burger and add some detail here and there.
Other than that it is awesome!
