    They both feel a bit muddy to me, maybe less black and more of a saturated darker color to create the dark to light blends.

    The curtain one is much more interesting and eye grabbing. ;)

    @Daniel: You just mean brighten them up a bit? If so, yeah that's where the final polishing will come in. Actually testing it out on the iPhone itself, seeing what looks best for the Retina.

    Definitely the curtain one!

    The lightening bolt and icon border should be different colors, though. And ditch the bolt's reflection.

    Thank you in advance everyone. I do have the icon loaded up on the phone right now, the reflection isn't so bad shrunk down. But yeah, I could see ditching it! Woop woop, love you dribbblers.

    I concur with Able, the one on the right is much more eye grabbing, but the reflection needs to go, or at least be toned down some more.

    I also feel the solid thick white border seems a little harsh and detracts from the lightning bolt too much. I wonder whether the opacity could be reduced, or even be size it down to a 1-2px subtle stroke.

    Liking the curtains though, looking forward to seeing this develop!

    I think the one on the left could be really rad if it was more gold or bronze looking. I'm guessing this is for your Zeus related project, and Zeus had hella gold and shit.

    Sounds like you already made a decision, but I prefer the left one! Once it's on a screen with 15 other icons plus the dock, the simpler one will definitely stand out more.

    I like the one on the right. There's too many minimal ones out there IMHO, and I don't doubt there's already a few with lightning bolts. ;)

    I think maybe a hardwood or richer color on the floor would make it pop.
