While I'm at it, here's a sneak peek at another personal project that I've currently got in the works. This lettering started off as a brush-marker sketch, before being redrawn in pencil on tracing paper. It's now in the digitizing process and will ultimately be applied to the first official Type and Lettering product. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll have said item ready for the holidays, but make sure to save a few pennies for some post-Xmas shopping. ;)
I prefer using softer graphite as it's easier to draw darker sketches. Though, I usually just use regular No. 2 lead pencils. A number of years ago I also got in the habit of drawing with disposable mechanical pencils; I don't always like the edge they lay down but they're really convenient, especially while traveling.
After a three month hiatus with this project, it's finally back on the front burner. With any luck I'll be seeing samples of the final product soon. In the meantime, I'll be posting the vectorized version of the lettering.

Thanks Joe. Though, it's ironic that inside I'm rather self-conscious and insecure. ;)
