4 months late, but just wanted to say I like this a lot. The swash underneath is a really nice touch and I love its simplicity, feels very elegant. I've had the same issue with a swash coming from an 'm' like that, it's surprisingly tricky. If I were to hand trace it, it would go up as well although perhaps a little less sharply.
On another note, I was just having a look at your website and just wanted to say I hope you're feeling better these days.

I've made the m and the ornament below join up. I prefer this one. Thoughts?
Is the join too thick? I figured it'd be heavier and gently slow off. I also need to fix a few pixels at the bottom swoop of the curve.

You did this in photoshop didn't you? ;)
Take it into Illustrator and really work with that join. Also, I'd like to see the thicks pushed further.
Finally, it could use more quirk. I think hand-tracing it could be a good idea (as Mr. Alex suggested).

I know the pixels aren't properly aligned. This is more overall picture. :P
Fine tuning comes after I've worked out the correct joins. I'm starting to agree on thicks vs thins argument more lately though.

An idea for improving the join: don’t swing up after the “m”. Just let that last stroke of the “m” fall (gracefully) on down in to the flourish.

Not sure I like the graceful full to be honest. Tracing that with my hand feels unnatural. :)
