   Replacement icon for Apple's TextEdit. I've never had much luck with metal reflections before but I think I've found a technique that works for me :) tips, suggestions, and critique are all appreciated!

   Pretty cool. Nailed the pencil and reflections.

   Maybe you could hand write the text yourself?
   The spacing of lines seems quite small compared with the width of the pencil nib and the smallness of the characters.

    @Jim I have no blog and don't use PS anyway so there are probably other methods :) I've given consideration to making a complete, program independent tutorial on my design process before, but I don't know how much the community wants one.

    The grip is amazing. You've found the right S-curves.

    What if you make the body metal coloured to contrast eraser, grip and paper? E.g. metallic ruby / green / navy / orange.
