   Am I missing some perspective on the book icon or is it ok just like this?

   I think the perspectives fine, though the shadow from the ribbon would be harder and stronger over the book and softer over the background due to proximity?

   also it would be furhter down on the background due to height, unless u make the ribbon wrap itself along the background

   i didn't spot the book icon at first for the same reason's max has mentioned. Simple drop shadows flatten space- i think it would help to draw your own deeper shadows.
