First stab at a logo for Koken, a new application the crew at Dominey Design have been quietly working on. Head over to http://koken.me for more info. Will be posting teasers of the app here on Dribbble over the next few months. I'll also be writing a thorough explanation of Koken's branding to explain the meaning behind the name and mark, for it has a pretty cool story.
Yasmine - Indeed, it's a Dutch word in addition to Japanese. We're borrowing it from the latter, which you can see the formal definition of here: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/koken. Thankfully the alternate Dutch definition doesn't translate into anything offensive. ;)

Haha it's funny, because "koken" means "cooking" in Dutch. So my interpretation of this logo is totally off ;). But it looks nice though!

The mark looks great. I have high hopes for this, can't wait to hear more about it.

The logo is very cool. I'm very curious about Koken, specially after looking at the teaser page (http://www.koken.me/)
