This is a WIP iOS icon for Work It, an upcoming iPhone application by Purple Smash.

I am having to play with reality a touch, as credit cards and pens are (obviously) not to scale, comparative to the briefcase. I still have a little left to do, mainly shading and lighting the grey pouching and making the stitching a little more organic.

    Thanks!

    Thanks guys!

@Prathyrush As with any icon, it would be re-drawn to fit the appropriate canvas!

Natalie, so some elements would be removed to fit the canvas better ?
By the way, I am Prathyush. Friends pronounce it as Pratoosh.

Hi Prathyush! Not necessarily, but it would depend on the size of the canvas, of course. I like to work in very small sizes and sometimes just a hint of detail is enough.

I'm intrigued, why do you ask (i.e. as you're an icon designer)?

Crisp! Would be cool to see the smaller versions. :)

The number of elements in this icon seems to be populated that you'd have to either remove them wholly or hint at few pixel dimensions, which would be hardly noticeable in 57x57. I'm looking forward to see the smaller versions as well.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated!

I'm not sure why a few of you are concerned about scaling (which wouldn't happen), we're talking about a 114px icon, not a 16px - I got this :p

If you mean how it looks on the retina screen, it looks good - I use LiveView in my work flow to consistently check on progress.

@Prathyush I have no problem hinting at detail (should it be required), I would rather the icon be aesthetically best in the up to date resolution, than compromise it to suit all/both.

Either way, I do not compromise on quality, so both icons will look as good as I can make them :)

Very detailed icon, good work! But the center part looks a bit cluttered, maybe you can remove one pen and sheets.

  24. This is a WIP iOS icon for Work It, an upcoming iPhone application by Purple Smash.

I've spaced the elements a little better, to make it appear less cluttered and also completed the shading and lighting. The icon is pretty much complete, pending a 24-48hr break and final bug check and polish!

#mental note to self; darken chrome by handle.
