Think Inside the Box

A couple of weeks ago I bought an old black box from the flea market. I'm fascinated by the stories that objects carry with them - who did this box belong to? What was it's purpose? Where has it been?I love giving new meaning to things so I decided to give it a new paint job.
For this piece I explored the concept of thinking inside the box. You're always hearing people saying to "think outside the box" but if you're someone working in a creative area you know that's not always the best advice. When you have a very open brief it's harder to come up with the best solution because the options are endless. That's why I always like to impose some limitations when I'm working with an open brief. It's good to think outside the box as long that box is inside another one.
