After some good comments on the last version, I decided to rework the direction slightly. I collaborated with the very talented Sergey Shapiro to create the "Pautler" portion of the mark. I'm still working the integration of "Design" into the mark. I think this is my favorite, but I have some other options in the attachment. Which one do you like most or do you have any other ideas?
Andrew, I don't think that this "design" with serifs fits this logo well. I like the 4-th most of all, this composition, as I suggested you earlier looks more harmonious and compact, as for me.
@Sergey, My fear with that version is that "Design" gets too small. The logo will be used on multiple elements fairly small and with design tucked in there I think it may get so small you can't read it. I'm also wondering if I should just go with "Pautler" as the logo and expect it will always be connected with something that explains I am a designer (business card, website, etc.)...
Andrew, I just don't think you have to use the logo always with the "Design" tagline. As you told the logo may be used just as Pautler when it supported with an info mentioning the design subject.
Thanks @Matthew. I go back and forth (almost daily), but I think I am leaning towards #5 as of now. I also like the idea more and more of only having "Pautler" when possible.

Also currently struggling to place the tagline on my logo. Great job Andrew & Sergey!
