    Some college stuff I'm working on...

    - I had to design a site for an asian catering service.
    - Personally, I wanted it to be really clean.

    This is what I came up with.
    I'm still in my very first year of Web Design, so any kind of critique will help. Thanks! : )

    Hey, great to meet again.. ;-) I actually never went to a design school, so don't take it too serious. ;-)

    But I think it needs a little more contrast.. squeeze your eyes and the logo kinda disappears. Maybe you can make the leave the same color as the title. Or for food, especially asian.. a red color theme would be nice too. Then for the ribbon (where the logo is on top), maybe a fabric texture would be great.. it's like a table cloth is hanging down. Hope that all makes sense.

    First of all, thanks for your (useful) critique!

    About the leaf:
    Already tried it with same colors - didn't look good at all. But you're right about the contrast part - it's needs a bit more shadow and depth.

    About the color and caption:
    Have this in another color theme, too, maybe I'm going to upload it - but this version kind of looks more clean to me. What do you think about the font? Does it fit?

    I would definitely add some more color. Just some splashes of it though because I personally like very greyed out sites myself so I have to force myself to add color. Its very good to be your first year in school though.

    I think the font works though I would probably decrease the letter spacing a bit on the logo. And I really like the fabric idea simurai had for the top.

    Again, great start, now just for tweaking. :D

    About the Font.. Yeah.. pretty good. Maybe have the body text not italic and not indented and a bit darker?? But it's hard to say with only one line. Keep it up.
