    Title treatment for a short revenge story I'm currently writing.

    First Paragraph:

    Today is Thursday and I shot a cow in the head. Hindsight being what it is I should have faced her head-on. Instead I stood on her right side staring directly into her eye as I slowly lifted the revolver and rested the barrel softly against her spotted dome. Her knees were locked, so it took her a second or two before collapsing under her own weight. Unexpectedly she fell toward me and I somehow had the wherewithal to jump back out of her radius. Had I not I might still be trapped in that field dying beneath the already dead. But I had different plans. Plans that included dying while still being able to feel my legs. The whole thing was emotionally punishing. The second most jarring experience in my life, but it had to be done. I had to know what it felt like so I could do it again. Not to another powerless animal, but to the man who killed my wife.
