i hate wood textures on Mac applications i think its getting over played and to dramatic...
@ Didi - agreed. However, we wanted the design to remain consistent with iFax for iOS http://drbl.in/MIT. I guess we're stuck with the wood?
like the home icon
@Didi to or too?
I really love it. I love the wood, but then again, I'm a sucker for wood in design. I love the 'new' banner, but what if I'm trying to click the down arrow that's mostly hidden by the new banner? Also, I love the blue you picked for the top section.
@ Matt - thanks for the lovin'. Re: your point about the down arrow, its not actually clickable icon, it's merely supposed to indicate that the fax is an incoming fax.
Love the sidebar, but I think it would work even better with an unobtrusive horizontal divider between items.
Too many different textures make it look too busy. The wooden background is also getting a bit tired now (Wunderlist & clones), maybe try something different there?
Then in that case, it's flawless! Haha, seriously it looks great.
How would this look with actual content in it, i.e different length names? Would that mean everything is un-aligned?
@Esad - thanks! Those dividers could be overkill dont ya think? Anybody else got a preference?
Regarding the wood, we're kinda stuck as we used it for our iOS app http://drbl.in/MIT and want to maintain consistency.
@Matt - Thanks again! Please keep complimenting. :)
@Michael - There's actually enough horizontal space to keep fields aligned. You'll get a better idea from this shot - http://d.pr/CEYG
My point still stands.
If that read 'Mike Smith' and under it it said 'Elizabeth Hicks' then I'm guessing the '12125456352' number won't be aligned.
Also, what about when the time is 10:30am will that fit?
I'd like to see this with some real content in it
@Michael - okay, point taken. What do you think of this alternative? http://d.pr/b6GO
That is a nice implementation. I suppose it depends on how important you think the information is that you are choosing to hide.
Is it likely someone is going to want to know that whole number?
