You could always do a CSS switcher that allowed us to choose what section gets what colour. Personally, the blue on the far right and the green in the middle are my favourites.
Update:
@Naz: Was also thinking along the same lines as another option.
I vote Monday gets Purple, because Monday needs something to take the edge off of how harsh it is.
We did this for a client last year where we changed colours of the site based on 24 hours. Perhaps you could take a similar approach but based on days of the week? 7 colours for 7 days. ;)
My favorites are 1, 3, & 4. If there's a reason why each section would have it's own color then go for that, but if not then it seems unnecessary. Then a rotating scheme like Naz suggested seems appropriate and a nice visual treat. :)
I like the green one a lot, but they all look great!
Question, though: What's the deal with this section? It seems you're already rolling out this update secretly ;)
If I had to pick one, I'd say purple. Because - as Tyler said - it's Monday. And because purple is noble and bold. And because there are too few purple sites around. But then the blue on the edge is vibrant as well and the green makes me think of a cool summer evening. And the yellow looks like Friday. Mood CSS switcher?
Let me channel Ari Gold for a second: I want all of them and if I don't have them in 10 minutes someone is going to on the street chasing jobs next to the painter from Tijuana.
Saw the secret section live too after your oops tweet ;-) They're all very nice color schemes. I'm planning a color separation in my new site but haven't decided either (sections or time based). The problem with time based schemes is that some people get disoriented (as in: this must be the wrong site, It was green the last time I visited it)
I like what Naz said about having based on a 24-hour timetable or day of the week. Alternatively you could cycle through colors based on the day of the year and tie it in with the season.

Deciding which section of the site gets which background.
And oh crap I need to build the other sections somehow. Might have to just launch this thing in stages.

Dan the colours here are spot on.

I'm quite partial to the aqua blue on the far right.

It's like a line up of antique crayolas. Gotta agree with Martin, the aqua is pretty sweet.

They're all beautiful ... but go with green!

I have to agree with Phil about 1, 3, and 4. With 1 being my favorite of the 3.

I like the gray (#2).

Thanks for the feedback, folks! Really very helpful. Interesting ideas on rotating the pallette sitewide. Still not sure what I'll end up doing yet.
@Max: Ssshh ;)

@Patrick: HAHA!
@Dan: I like all of them, and I wouldn't go for a CSS switcher or anything like that. One pr. section :-)

Bah, just slowly fade through the entire color spectrum ala Sam Brown's Massive Blue.

I'm with Cameron! LOL
I love all except purple but that's just because I don't like purple.

- I find that unless you don't have any work on, it's the only way to do it!

Each page could have a different color?

I agree with Cameron. You should make it fade like Massive Blue.

Lovely!
Don't do a theme switcher, though... that choice belongs to you as the designer.
Here are my suggestions:
- Home » charcoal
- Work » pale sepia
- Shop » denim
- About » orange

body { background-color: #xxx; -webkit-transition ( 7s linear ); }

I would go with rotation and my personal favorite is the brown.

Go with #2 Grey. :-)

3 is my fav! :)

Tie it to an app like Moodstats and then we'd know if you were feeling blue or sunny.
I'm getting old, I remember Moodstats.

#2, #4, or #6. Really partial to #4 for some reason, probably because it looks most like handmade paper.
I like all the comments about fading/changing colours, but I just don't see that kind of behaviour supporting or enhancing the content of your site.

So pretty, I love all the colors, but the aqua's the best...must pay you boatloads of cash to redesign codesnipp.it someday
