I thought about that once. But wouldn't it be in the top? Natively, all the controls on a desktop (Mac OS) are mainly on top. iOS has controls on the bottom. For example: twitter app. Therefore, top it is :). Hopefully they'll implement it soon!
I'm not sure, but that might not be enough room to see the interaction that goes on. Maybe it could alternatively be an icon in the menu bar, and when you prompt it a popover would come down from the icon showing the conversation between you and Siri.
Im confident it will also be a dedicated button on your Mac keyboard. (replace the F3 button?).
I'm not sure they would do a slide up/down of the desktop like this either. They will probably want to show their tear off sheets and other items possibly...and as you note, it has limited space for interaction (possibly it could push the window left or right for more vertical space?)
Anyway, it is a fun concept... and we all know Siri will be here for the next version of OSX. Rumour has it it will be called Thundercat. (not really).
this looks pretty cool! –I had to take a second look when I read the title on the shot like "is that really Siri on OSX" haha.. "I have to see this.." lol. – Great job friend! :)
Updated my concept of a siri enabled Mac. Inspired by the new notification center interface, having siri in a vertically dominant column is more similar to iOS than my previous concept.

Siri will need more space than that to visualize information.

No joke: we've here been working on something similar to Siri, for OS X. Check out http://www.raffael.me/sinus/, we've launched our beta today!
