Started work on a new enemy sprite today, tentatively named Baker. He's a fireball-lobbing two-tailed cat based loosely on the Bakeneko from Japanese folklore.
Also dropped a 16-bit grimp in there since I'm really happy with the way he turned out but haven't dribbbled him yet.
SMB. Megaman focuses on the shoot mechanic. Mario (and by extension Mimeo) focuses on jumping. Ignore this level design (I assume that's why you asked). It's just for staging sprites. Jump height and distance varies depending on your running speed.
@Rob While the sky is FPO, I'm treating the reference systems specs as a suggestion rather than a hard and fast rule (eg, 8-bit may have more than 24 colors on screen at once but no more than 4 colors per individual sprite). Especially with the 16-bit sprites, the limits of my graphical prowess tend to be the only truly limiting factor.

@Dan - I just noticed Shaun is down to 6 shots left. Top this man up quickly.

That sky gradient looks awfully smooth for a 16-bit palette. FPO?

I'm so fascinated by anything tagged "mimeo." Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
