A logo concept that I'm working on for my mom's educational center. Scrivner teaches children's art & music and makes it possible for every child to have an opportunity for arts education.
Across the walls and ceilings of the shop are the handprints and corresponding names of every child that is and has taken classes there. The logo reflects that part of the physical brand and also creates an "S" with the thumb and palm.
This is a big school project that I've been working on so brutal feedback PLEASE ( :
Really nice concept… I do wonder how you'd make this logo if it's for a stamp for example.
One comment (if I may) on the upper part of the "S". The left side of the upper curve seems to not be completely seemless. The purple part of that left upper curve seems to have a hard edge in it, as well as the part where the purple ends and the blue begins (at the top). I hope I'm explaining this right though… it's kind of early for me at the moment :)
Totally man. The "S" is very compact up there. I tried squeezing it in to fit the correct proportions of a hand. It just made sense to me to cut through the middle there from the outside curve to the bottom curve. It should continue up more before cutting over to be much more fluid.
As for the logo standing by itself in one color, I have a version where I did a negative path and then deleted it leaving a clear negative stroke in between each piece. Each line that differentiates between colors becomes a negative space of a few pixels.. similar to that of the creases on our actual hands.
Thanks man, the project turned out very well. It was a step out of my comfort zone contextually but I really fell like I brought my own style into it without over-doing it.
